26.2

We are home. We are sore. We are tired. But we did it. We both finished. Benjamin finished in just under 5 hours and I finished in 5 hours and 45 minutes. We both wanted to quit. Benjamin at mile 20 and for me it was every step starting at mile marker 15 and thru to 26.1. (that last .1 was a piece of cake) After we crossed the finish line we ate the most delicious sandwich cookie ever (it was vanilla and cheap and we probably wouldn't like them today but yesterday it was fantastic). Benjamin met up with a guy around mile marker 22 that he finished the marathon with. He then was so kind to hobble to the car and grab the camera to take some pictures of me crossing the finish line. Once I crossed the finish line and ate the amazing cookie and banana I then gave Benjamin a hug and started to cry. This was no little cry with just a couple of tears. It was a full on sob. I was so tired and so happy to be done. Needless to say we are both sore and walking around with a little bit of a hitch in our gitty-up. But we finished. And that feels so so good.

Running Scared

Saturday is a big day.

Benjamin is totally ready and will do awesome. I on the other hand am very nervous. I have pulled a muscle in my rib area and when I run more than 3 miles it hurts like something that hurts super bad.

The marathon is 26.2 miles.

23.2 miles further than I would want to go.
